Figuring how to link it all...

https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/16058204.Simone_M_RichardsThere's Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Goodreads, Snapchat, Youtube, LinkedIn, and more I don't even know about. I thought I was pretty good at multitasking considering I've been raising three children on my own for the last 14 years. But that was before I tried to manage my social media presence.  Now, I'm not so sure.

Lately, I've been working on learning how to maximize my Goodreads profile. I tried to link my twitter followers who also have Goodreads accounts to my Goodreads friends list. I closed my eyes and pressed submit. Fingers crossed that it worked. (I'm always nervous about violating social media etiquette. So, my apologies to everyone in advance!)

If you'd like to connect with me on Goodreads, click here.
If that doesn't work, copy and paste the link below in your web browser.

They had some questions....

Admittedly, I was nervous as I pulled up to the home of the hostess, Nancy, who'd invited me to meet with her book club. They'd selected and read my book for their January meeting. I didn't know what to expect.

It was cold and remnants of an earlier snowfall were still on the ground. I parked, noticed my sorority's letters on the window of one of the cars, and thought, "I'll be okay, a DG is in there."

The women were all welcoming and nice and funny. They liked reading a book set in St. Louis because they knew the areas of town referenced in the story. They now wanted to learn tango. Many admitted they researched and watched many videos of Argentine tango on YouTube after finishing Midnight Playground. They giggled about finding themselves reading the sexy and steamy scenes in the most non-sexy situations such as in the dentist's waiting room or on the sidelines of their kids' basketball games. They asked if I dance tango (I do), if it was weird to write the sex scenes (it wasn't), if the story had happened to me (parts of it are from my own life but it is a work of fiction), how long did it take to write (15 months), what else am I writing (the follow-up to Midnight Playground and Purg-a-tory) and do I know someone like Paula? (Maybe.)

The group had the most fun casting the actors/actresses for the Midnight Playground  movie. For Simone, it was a tie between Cameron Diaz and Reese Witherspoon. For the male characters, they shared a bunch of photos of various great-looking, shirtless actors that I can't remember who they settled on, if they did.

One of the members said that what she liked most about Midnight Playground was how real the characters felt, that she could see herself sitting down and sharing a bottle of wine and talking the night away with Simone. They all agreed that the characters stayed with them and wanted to know what happens next!

I assured them I was working on the sequel. I thanked them for letting me attend their book club and for choosing to read Midnight Playground. I thanked them for their support and asked that they leave reviews on Amazon and to tell all their friends.

I drove home calm, relaxed, and happy. And, even more inspired to continue writing.

PS - BTW the hostess was the DG!
